Editing approach

FirstEdit's approach to editing

FirstEdit is fully customizable. You choose the rules you want to enforce. Everything in FirstEdit's checking is configurable. It can check and correct whatever matters most to you, including: your company name, client names, industry terminology, sensitive language, and more.

Accurate and reliable editing

FirstEdit uses specialist agents — one for every rule you define — to make sure it gets changes right. It mixes rules-based deterministic checking with AI-based context checking to achieve accurate, reliable enforcement.

Under-editing by design

FirstEdit is designed not to over-edit. Over-edits are costly — people have to find and fix mistakes introduced by AI. If there's a tough judgement call, FirstEdit will either flag it for human review or skip it, knowing a human reviewer will assess it.

Every change is double checked

FirstEdit uses two independent AI models. Every change is proposed by one agent and verified by a second, independent agent — to ensure that no meaning is altered and no incorrect change gets through.

Transparent and auditable

Every change is visible and can be approved or rejected. In Word, changes appear as tracked changes. In the browser, a review screen shows each change with an explanation of why it was suggested.

How to access

Access from your email, browser, or integrate in a workflow with other AI agents

API

Integrate your AI agents or collaboration tools directly with FirstEdit to embed first-pass editing into any workflow.

Human review

FirstEdit is your first edit, not your last

FirstEdit is designed to be your first-pass edit. It won't catch everything. It's not checking tone or strategy. What FirstEdit does is ensure that documents are cleaned up and easier to work with so you can focus on making the text impactful.
